About Us: The Travel Journal Behind Jannette Nanasy

Jannette Nanasy is an independent travel journal for people who want to plan a trip properly, not just collect a list of photogenic places. We write about travel, hotels, destinations, practical travel tips and the wider business of vacations and tourism.

Who we are

We are a small editorial team of travellers, researchers and former hospitality workers. Between us we have planned long rail trips, moved through cities with a carry-on, checked into hotels at midnight and rewritten an itinerary at a departure gate. The guides here come from that experience, cross-checked against official tourism and transport information.

Our mission

We publish free, English-language guides that answer the questions travellers actually ask: where to stay, what a hotel will really cost, how to move between cities, when to visit a crowded place and what to pack for two climates in one bag. Every article aims to leave you with a decision you can act on.

How we research

We start with primary sources: transport operators, official tourism boards, hotel booking terms and local visitor rules. We compare prices across dates rather than quoting one screenshot. We name the trade-offs instead of pretending a destination is perfect. Where a detail can change, such as a timetable or a fee, we tell you to confirm it before you travel.

Editorial standards

No paid rankings and no pay-to-play hotel lists. If we ever accept a sponsored stay, the article will say so at the top. We correct mistakes on the page and date the correction. We do not invent statistics; when a figure is an estimate or a range, we say that plainly.

Our five sections

Travel covers the shape of a trip: itineraries, rail, pacing and transport. Hotel covers choosing, reading and paying for accommodation. Destinations goes deep on specific cities and regions. Travel Tips handles packing, insurance and the practical details. Vacation & Tourism looks at seasons, crowding and the wider travel economy.
